They actually just got a SRF750 in as well which I've been dying to try, so gonna swing by later and try that. I'll give the Sadowsky another whirl.

Well my custom Cliff Bordwell wasn't too far north of that. So paying similar for a beat up jazz does feel a little off. Even if it sounded killer.

My bordwell does too btw.

Difference is that Cliff doesn't have anywhere near the brand name recognition that Sadowsky does.

Brand recognition does not always equal quality. Just ask Gibson.

Agreed though. I was quite stoked to finally get my hands on one. My GC is usually crap but last time they had the Sadowsky, a Nash 55, a new EBMM Stingray, and a '71 Mustang. Was fun.

Yeah it was $3k.

That seem like a VERY fair price for that bass. From the photos it looks very clean. And have always loved the Sherwood green. I have a super early MIJ RV4 and it is every bit as high quality as my MIA JJ4.

I´m close to buying my second Sadowsky.
I said it 100 times, and I will say it another 100 times.
These Basses are so unbelievable. If I knew about it I would have jumped on much earlier with a Metro Line Model.

But I can´t decide between a PJ or a JJ (again). And of course I live where I can´t test it.

I finally got to play one at my local GC. It was a way overpriced beat up Japanese metro I believe. It blew everything out of the water, I’d never heard a bass sound so good. Through a rumble 40 too

The Japanese metros were unbelievable. I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between mine from my NY model if it wasn't for the NY having a master grade fretboard option.

I just received my new MetroExpress JJ-5 yesterday - I really dig it, however, when trying to make a slight adjustment to the truss rod, I noticed I can't insert the truss rod tool through both ends of the spokewheel. I can only put the tool through one end and then there is a threaded component that is blocking the way. Is this normal?

That doesn't look right to me...none of the Sadowsky's I've owned looked like that.
That includes several MIJs and one NYC.
How can you adjust the truss rod with the threads blocking your tool?

I am wondering the same. There's no leverage with the threads in the way. It feels nearly impossible to turn.

I tried tightening it and it was very difficult, I actually bent the tool. However, I put some fresh strings on and there's very little relief (like I prefer) so I wonder if the rod was already tightened all the way?

Edit: I just now loosened and tightened the rod. It turned, but it is kind of stiff.
