Actually, if I found a used lefty Sadowsky, I probably couldn't help myself. But I could never buy a new one. Which model to order? 4 string, 5 string, vintage, modern, WL4? I want them all! So many choices...so little funds...

Too bad you live so far south. I'd like to check that bass out. But then again the last thing that I need is GAS for a WL.

It will be bad enough when Bart gets his WL in several months.

The RV-5 PJ showed up yesterday. Played it last night.

Sick.

I've never owned a p-bass so it'll take some messing around to learn the tones. One thing that I'm really amazed at is how much a little knob twisting changes things up. It does not really get a classic "JJ" tone, but it is fat and woody as all get out. Have a gig tonight, that will be the real test. I'm thinking that pan just a tad towards the bridge with a little bass and treble add will give me what I'm hearing in my head. Well, besides the voices...

Already trying to decide between MV5 or NYC JJ maple 5 as a companion . Pics later, need coffee now.

FWIW, I am NOT taking my NYC PJ to the gig tonight. It's at a strip club. Some kind of anniversary or something.

It will be the first gig I've played without the PJ in at least a year.

Nice. Yeah, I just played my Metro ash/maple PJ5 last night and it ruled. Like you said, don't look for a JJ sound out of it, but it sounds awesome and yeah, you definitely don't need to come close to solo'ing a pickup to really alter tone. In my case, I would probably rarely solo the bridge pickup, BUT, solo'ing the that wonderful NP5 is just a GOOD idea... especially for classic tunes. Last night it was all about classic rock (deep purple, Gov't Mule, etc) and blues (Muddy Watters, BB King, ZZ top, etc.). Perfect fit... both blended and P solo'd.

So my question is, where are all the old ones? Someone gotta have them!
