I was actually thinking about this exact thing recently. I see, but rarely read, a lot of the 4 verses 5 threads that pop up with regularity here at TB. And, it always seems to me that the five string neck just feels SO much more natural to me. I can't tell you how many gigs I have done on my fives and never played a single note on the B string.
Granted, I haven't gigged on a four string slab in probably 10 years, and haven't owned one in at least 6 or 7. And it could be that I play a lot more DB than I used to, but when I pick a four string bass, it is so "wrong" to me. I don't enjoy playing them at all.

Beautiful bass. I hear you ion the skinny neck thing. I tried a Geddy Lee for a while and I think my hand hurts more from that than any 5 string I've played. My M5-24 should e here Thursday. Can't wait.

Here's my NYC MS5 in action w/SC's and DR Lo riders. I like the tone in the mix, the video is not up to the normal quality of our churches stuff (the band was all fill ins due to the holiday). It is an original tune one of our worship leaders wrote. And I had to come up with my own line (normally I have to play the line on the MP3 or chart). I know its not Chic Corea or anything like that.

Looks beautiful. I also have been curious about the thin neck, because to me the regular Sadowsky bass feels perfect, and also the Geddy felt too thin for my taste.
Actually, I have two NYC ash/maple JJ5's. The other one is the plain jane solid ash body one with SCs. This one came stock with the Sadowsky HC's, which I will be swapping out for some Nordstrand NJ5S pickups probably this weekend or maybe early/mid next week. I'll also be trying the Sadowsky SC's in it, which are currently in my newest Metro (MV5-24.)
