FWIW - I've replaced the rubber pads in the grabber on mine, as I lost one early in ownership (on the strings side, not neck side). I used a product called "Grippers" that I bought at either Lowes or Home Depot. You'll find it in the rubber/felt pads area (for stuff like furniture). The product I bought was a roughly 4" x 6" black rubber sheet with adhesive on the back - same thickness as the pads on the Hercules. I just traced one of the Hercules pads onto the sheet and cut out two new pads...plenty left over to make more, but haven't needed to replace as my pads have stayed in place.

So I played my new Metro RV5-PJ at church this morning - less than 12 hours after taking it out of the shipping box. What a brilliant instrument in every regard - I'm in love! I could go on, but you guys already know what I'd say.

Sound guy said "man, that Sadowsky really cuts through the mix with a clean, crisp sound. I don't have the boominess problems I had with your Lakland [55-02 D]." Now he tells me he had issues with the Lakland - I had no idea. :smug: Guessing you've had similar sound guy conversations as well.

Bass looks amazing in person - especially the RW neck, which is far darker & more rich looking live than the photo on the Sadowsky site (YEAH!). Very similar look to the pic Hawkeye just posted. '59 burst is a pretty common color, but some time this week, I'll take a pic or two of my own and share.

BTW, also got the hard case...very, very nice!

I did not buy it new. I got it from midmoto (who IIRC got it from pickles, who got it once again after I sold it?).

Anyway, it's a tone monster, especially for slap. Maybe the best slapping bass I've ever tried. SUPER punchy.

I would have kept it for a long time but switched to fours and sold it to buy my dream Will Lee.

Some day I might like to have another Sadowsky fiver . . .

As long as you're not hurting for the money, this could be a good thing... it'll be interesting to see if, once you have spent time back on the modern side, you'd learn you'd have missed it. Maybe yes, maybe no, but I think interesting at least. Otherwise, the market is always all about timing. Could be the next time you put it up it sells quickly. You just can't predict this stuff.

Maybe. I also may swap out the PUs for HCs to see if it does anything to make it more pleasing to my ears.

YES! Roger has been one of the few that has found the magic formula. Tonality, playability and looks in one package. And his basses aren't that bad either!:D

Then you add the incredible, world-class customer service of the staff.;)
