Wow, Frank Zappa wore his basses high!

Two more days...mine should be here on Monday. I'm glad that they are a busy two days.

I shouldn't have looked through this thread, or at the Sadowsky site. My 7 guitar stand is full w/the addition of the M5-24, so I either need to start selling, or just start retiring a few to send to live with my parents.

yeah!
then you can get 6 more basses!

you're welcome: i'm here to help;)

I do like that idea, but space in my studio apartment is limited. I have made plans for two of my basses that I haven't played/gigged with in the past year or so. My first bass is going to my Mom's house for long term storage in a hardshell case, and my P-bass (MIM) is going to be sold. I haven't gigged or recorded with it in over a year, and with no sentimental value-it makes sense to me to sell it.

One more day till the bass arrives!

Just wanted to re-post Dragonbass' link from part 17, of last night's performance w/ Ricky Minor's Sadowsky bass for those who may have missed it. Thanks Robert.

B.

I was lucky enough to see the Supremes in London in 1968 when the orchestra was led by an amazing bass player (late Jimmy Garratt I believe).
Hearing Ricky's tone and seeing the leadership reminded me of that inspiring moment. Great stuff!

Gosh darn it Vic and your Ash favoritism! :hiding:
I am torn between these for the future reverse or std-routing PJ 5er:
Quilt Maple on Ash/Braz neck,
Quilt Maple on Alder/Braz neck
Alder/Braz neck

This bass will be specific to the blues stuff. I've been thinking of settling for a Fender P for cost reasons / just something to get by with.
Or splurge for a Metro PJ ($2700) or wait and order a custom NYC.

:help: Steer me in the right direction guys and gals....

I played blues for quite a few years and the winner in that tonal circle really is alder/rosewood. Add fancy-schmancy top as an attention getter. At least this was the case with the guys I played with which was a supporting role. The alder/rosewood just seemed to fit where I was IMHO.

Well, you can't order up a Fender reverse P...
Thanks for the replies and Yep - I know that is why I said "settle". I was thinking of settling for something along that basic Fender P line or settling for a Metro PJ.

OR just go all out and order what I really would like to have: a PJ NYC or a rev PJ NYC... in those wood configurations above. I have been watching the classifieds too!
