I've found it to be less prevalent with vol-vol setups, but it is true that neither case is super linear.

That is the one thing I wish mine had was some grain in the finish, yours is beautiful! What are the other specs going to be?

Just as an after thought - I replaced the original post pic w/ a touched up one (took out the light glare on the photo)
(compare your post to the one above now)

The specs are:
Chambered ash P. body w/ ash top - '59 burst, mint pg w/ tort on the side. Chrome bridge & tuners w/ black control knobs.
P. neck (1-3/4" nut) w/ Madagascar rw board on no tint maple. 12" radius - 21 fret.
It will have the updated HC J pup in the P/J & the 500 vol. pot.

Thanks a lot bro, for your compliment. I have always been extremely impressed with the Metro P/J Hybrid as well. You are a very lucky man to have such an incredible instrument. You should be proud.

Thanks Pat. Actually it's ash but SpectorDetector's photo's show a beauty alder bod. I couldn't believe my luck when Kevin sent me a pic of it as being good to go (in stock).

You & me both Mike! I guess our builds are considered blood, having been created along side. I have noticed that the burst shading & colour on both of ours is matched pretty closely. I wonder if they were sprayed the same day :D Somebody SMACK me! :)

Gig #1 w/the M5-24

This was great. The room was pretty boomy, and the bass sat perfectly in the mix. I received compliments from the sound guy, other musicians, and the band with the tone of the bass.

I ended up setting my amp flat, slight bass boost on the onboard, treble flat, VTC nearly wide open-maybe 90%?, pickup pan in the middle. The tonal variation with just moving my right hand was amazing.

I did a few slaps & pops, and was blown away.

So, this was a great first gig with the bass.

I'm looking forward to rehearsal on Sunday. It's potentially a 6hr rehearsal, so it'll be a blast.
