This is actually pretty typical of a passive blend control. Did you have dual volume controls on the Status?

Yea. Ive been using basses w blend for so long Ive forgotten myself. Ull get used to it. Way easier live, IMO

the first bit of adjust does a lot, but, so does the first bit of biasing dual pots

I finally got my Metro PJ Hybrid! It was pretty dirty when I got it, not what I expected for how "new" the bass was supposed to be. The guy who had it must have NEVER wiped it down after sweating all over it night after night. I have put at least an hour maybe an hour and a half just cleaning the thing! After all that work it does look a lot better, with a new pickguard it will look excellent! There isn't a spot on the pickguard without scratches on it, kinda weird almost...
Oh well, the important thing is it sounds great, I have been playing along to some Steely Dan lately and the difference in tone is amazing! I am loving it! I need to take it some where in the Atlanta area to get a proper setup done, but as of now if I don't dig in too hard it doesn't buzz. Anyone know of a good Luthier in Atlanta I can take it to?
I will take some pictures tomorrow when the light is better, but for tonight I will be playing a lot no doubt.

I'm a vol/vol guy, too (for a variety of reasons, which I won't get into here). Two of my three Sadowsky's are vol/vol, and I'll probably end up switching the third over to vol/vol as well. I will say, though, that it's not too hard to get used to a vol/blend, but it sure does feel different at first.

The Atlanta Bass Gallery is a Sadowsky Metro dealer. I would start there. I've never dealt with them so I'm not sure how they are to work with though.
I learned last night that the setup is pretty good, it just plays differently than most basses I have owned. It really seemed to magnify my sloppiness and would buzz a bit, but when I played better and more accurate, it really sounded good. I am learning to play without digging in too much and it sounds great. I totally see why people love these instruments, what a versatile bass this is.

Looks 3 color burst like mine. Very cool piece. Yea, give it a bit of time to get used to. Also, you'll probobly find urself setting ur amp up more neutral or up the middle than with other basses. Pretty much every amp Ive used has been set flat. I then boost bass a bit on the bass and thats it. I have a Tfunk I gig with now. I put the enhance on zero, dont touch the parametrice, etc. Pj's kill!!!

Thanks! The amp is set flat and the bass also, except when I go just P, I add some treble. It sounds fantastic flat though! Is there a little bit of compression in the preamp circuit? It sounds so taught and controlled, yet still shakes the house! Very happy with my purchase. I feel like I'm playing in HD now!
