I don't blame you, is that a CME Ltd Edition? Beautiful, liking the black headstock. Looks like it has a toggle for splitting the 'bucker? Here's my red one with its "fumed oak" fretboard, reminds me a little ofView attachment 4776560 View attachment 4776561 wenge. Fantastic bass, if it had a coil split and matching headstock I'd love it even more! I don't see myself ever letting it go, it's just too good.

I don't think it was a CME limited addition, I was able to put the same thing together on the configurator on the Sandberg site.

LolIt is a 4 string though! It just has a really long flexible thumb rest.

I have a very unique set of nordstrand pickups for sale. I had the neck pickup (hum canceling) custom made to fit the shorter housing used on 5 string Sandberg's.
Therefore, this is a nordstrand set that will fit and was specifically ordered for a Sandberg TM5. The set is available in the classifieds. Listing them for 175, but open to offers.

New to the group. Just bought a 2017 TM5 from a friend. He bought it new and the condition still is like new. I have only played it at home in my little Ampeg BA108 amp. Love the feel of it. Might change the setup later but I’m gonna try it at rehearsal with one of my bands tomorrow before I decide that.
I also have a new Markbass CMD121H IV on the way from UK to Sweden. It should be here on Monday if all goes as planned. I bought it to have as an amp for gigs and rehearsals. Can’t wait to try it with the Sandberg when it comes

I have noticed that I prefer my Sandberg through a warmer amp like Fender Rumble and with a Tube DI.
I've been thinking about getting a Rumble for the sake of compactness if nothing else, plus I think they sound great. But I can get almost an excess of warmth from my Markbass with some VLE dialed in.
For sure!! My GK is anything but warm. So the Rumble is nice to have around .
Cool. I tried the bass at rehearsal with my hard rock band the other day in my big rig. Sounded truly amazing. Can’t wait to get my Markbass amp home but got news the other day that the delivery will be two weeks later unfortunately.

I have good overdrive to get some warmth if I need to. I also have the Fender amp in the pic below for certain gigs. With that I can get tons of warmth. But I need to have something lighter to always have at home to take for rehearsals and some gigs.
I really enjoyed the demo's I've seen of the new California Central, it sounds very much like a Stingray but is significantly cheaper. Thought it would be cool if they could make it in fretless (considering how rare fretless Stingrays are) but Scott @ CME said that Sandberg told him no.
Does anyone have any insight into why putting an MM pickup into a California V all of a sudden makes it so it only comes in two colors and no options? I'm pretty bummed about that. As far as I understand, the California Central is a full on made-in-Germany bass and not a budget offering so limiting the full suite of options doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

I am sure they will make it with whatever neck/body material in whatever finish you like. And yes, it's a German-made model. I AM surprised they will not make it in a fretless version.
