Does anyone how I can order a TT5 pickguard (looking for white or tort)? I'm in the US and it doesn't seem like any of the European sites that stock them ship to the US.

I've been a week or so pondering the idea of ordering a VS, but the long waiting list is not fun. It looks like it's a bit more than a year right now (!). Any experiences? Is the custom setup worth the wait, or would you grab anything available now?

i just stumbled onto a Custom fretless 5 at a local dealer - feeling very fortunate.

i can't stand wait lists and invariable change my mind when something DOES pop up.

i was chatting with some Sandberg fans recently and they confirmed the lead times for orders are WAY out.

depends on what you are looking for.

have you checked the online dealers?

I just put in an order and the ETA is 15-16 months. If it turns out as nice as the one I have (which was not a custom order - it was in stock at a retailer), I will be happy.

I ordered a custom VS4 and have no regrets. It’s beautiful, weighs about 7 lbs, is flawlessly built and sounds perfect. Got to order a custom color too…. So, I’d recommend it!

Also, does anyone know where in Northern California I can put my hands on a Sandberg? The listed authorized dealers near me don't carry them and I want to try the neck before I spend a bunch of time and money.

I've never liked 5 string basses with P bass pickup, so I'd probably go for the VM4 because of that, which would lead me to TM5 nexto to it.
But that's just me...You won't go wrong with any of them honestly.

I got curious on the weight and decided to put it on the scale today. My VS4 weighs in at 6 lbs 15 ounces….and it’s not a super light, just a normal VS4. Pretty crazy.

I like 4 string P bass sound. Never been a fan of how low B string sound on a split coil P pickup (also there's something in the way how 5 string P bass look that just don't work for me)

I just got this TT4 and I have a few questions. I had a Sandberg Nighthawk 5 once briefly and it was a nice bass, I’d say quality on par with Music Man, super solid, everything as it should be. But this TT4 is a whole different level then anything I’ve had quality wise. I’ve had Lulls, US Lakland and a Fender Custom Shop and this is easily on par with those, the difference is this feels so broken in, yet it’s almost unplayed. I love the tint on the neck!! I notice there is not a stamp on the back of the headstock just a 4 digit serial number in the wood. Is this a standard model? Or some sort of nicer version? Or is Sandberg just that good?? Any input is appreciated. Thanks

It's a California TT4 I - older version (Fender shaped body and pickguard, different tuners etc), so the serial is correct for version I.

I thought I posted here already , but I got my vm4 from bass central (pictures don't do the green justice) and I found the green booster 5 on reverb from music minutes in hungary. Has nordstrands on it. I'm loving my sandbergs and would like another in blueburst , I'd like the ken taylor model 5 blueburst if anyone's selling let me know!

It does! And I really like the booster 5 alot so I think they'll be similar in feel. I love the California's as well but it feels harder to play higher up the neck than my booster 5 and spector
