Sandberg is getting more and more popular every day. It's great, and also the only reason why they can keep on offering basses at such low cost. Manufacturing something here in Germany is not cheep at all, it's great that their prices are hardly not increasing.

@Digital Man: as soon as you post pics of your Basic 4 you get 104. Strange with the missing dots, have you bought the bass used? Perhaps the previous owner didn't like the dots and ordered it without. I have seen some before without. I think it's a great to have a logo on the body but some people, specially with the california basses, don't want it.

I like the :: logo on the upper horn, nice little touch.

Sandberg is indeed getting more and more popular, but there's a consequence on the delays... 6 months for a "Fender-like" bass, that's way too long. That's the delay I've been given for mine. They really need to hire more people or expand their factory. In the meantime, doing so would make the prices go crazy like Warwick's.

Yes you are right waiting times are quite bitter.
Warwick has a great manufactory, really professional equipment and some crazy features are made possible there. But yes, those prices went threw the roof. I really prefer Sandbergs high end models Custom Supreme and Custom Thinline, quality and versatility wise, to the german made Warwick Streamer Stage II and Infinity.

On the other hand, the larger stores here in Germany have a nice selection of Sandberg basses in stock. Most of them sell online internationally. At least the California and the Basic/Ken Taylor series should be available without delay.

Of course you might have to compromise on colour or other details, but if you're close enough to such a store, you can try before you buy. To me, that's big enough an advantage compared to a custom build to be flexible regarding an instrument's visual properties. I bought both my Sandbergs this way, didn't wait a single day and even got some discount on the list prices.

Bought my Sandberg in store off the shelf without knowing much more than their reputation. Turns out I could have had 3 band eq. I'm one that looooves to boost mids for my finger funk. Anyone ever gotten a 3 band aftermarket from Sandberg?

New to the Forum and very excited to be here.
My Sandberg found me about 2 years ago...It was love at first sight and feel. Went to go buy an amp from a guy and he let me play the bass. Within 15 seconds I told him that I have to have this bass...he said there was NO way he was selling it...called him every day for a month until he finally agreed.
I have a Ken Taylor 5-string custom...all Birds-Eye Maple neck/fretboard.
Ok, my question....I only recently began to understand the whole humbucker/coil split thing and noticed that when I switch to split coil the volume definitely decreases and I get some interference if I stand too close to my amp....is this normal? I understand that these are issues in general with single coil but to what extent is normal?
Thanks to any one who can help.

Can anybody tell me where I can find the serial number? Also, after I have it can I contact Sandberg to find out more about the bass. I bought it second hand from somebody. Would love to know every exact detail about it.
