I kept asking and finally got told that I won't get my Sandy until middle to end of January. That's over 6 months from when I ordered it.
So, just as a follow-up fyi to anyone in the same situation - I purchased the BT7, and it didn't fit any better than the BT1. I used 2 existing holes, drilled a new one, and left the 4th screw unused because it would have required a new hole too close to an existing. Seems ok functionally, and I doubt the 1 missing screw will make a difference. I hope.
I'd like to not have to use it, but being in a cover band, we have to switch songs quickly, and can't tune quick enough. Plus I don't want to put down my sandberg to play a 2nd bass with a different tuning. Love the bass.
My California has no routing. Looked great with pick guard off (control plate still on).
Awesome. I'm looking to find a 5 string stablemate for the below bass (not a Sandberg). Thinking of a TM5 in Pearl Green with the pickguard off.

Wow. Dude, that's really impressive.
I feel like I should be discouraging people from ordering stuff like this from Sandberg. This is the reason for the blowout in waiting times!
Seriously, I heard that people are waiting for 18 months or more for unusual colours, rare woods and hardcore masterpiece aged basses.
Even my humble softaged TM4 took 6 months. Not that I am complaining - it's amazing to play.
Good luck with that 6er..!

Yes... I have a TM4 and believe that the preamp is designed to be flexible enough to work with any speaker combination.
But I am finding that the preamp sounds better and less hyped when combined with speakers when the horn is off/attenuated.
More of a passive sound and the treble can even be boosted slightly to give some great sounds with clarity. The speakers alone help reduce/smooth out the 8k treble control. Just thinking out loud.
A really nice bass.

I just bought my first Sandberg. It's a VM4 with Maple Neck, Block Inlays, and Matte Black Burst finish. Can't wait to get it. I'll be posting some pics as soon as she gets here.
The new California shape makes me sad. Sandberg was first on the shopping list. I guess I'll be shopping used.
It's had the opposite effect on me, I really think sandberg are doing something original.
