Club Sandberg ?

antek you were saying about straploks, sandbergs stock strap buttons are compatible with the schaller system i already had a set on my status so i knew instantly what they were but if you are not familiar with them it can be misleading.

most basses will fit in those generic 'bass' cases and if its not a jazz body you have an easier time (jazz bodies need a longer case, sometimes shops dont notice that and just say 'bass case'). i got a tweed replica case from thomman and it fits my P styled basses fine.

Arrrgh! Had I known before... And now my Frog's equipped with Dunlop's Straploks.

I've tried several cases intended for P and J basses and for other, too. BA4 is short and slim, so most of cases were too big. Other were too shallow. Posssibly I'll order a custom made case - these are not expensive here.

Oh yesss mate!
I want to try it out soo bad, I'll be in Frankfurt soon but only short and don't know if I'd be able to check it out but if I do I sure will let everybody know.

I can just say that Sandberg is full of surprises and I'm thrilled with that Raymän. I thought it would just be a customized california but no, soo wrong. Going for that Panther shape was a great idea, the price is just killer and one can be sure it will have the same quality as all other Sandberg basses. I will write to Session music that they must make a video as soon as they get hand of them.

Splendid idea! I have simply not thought on this idea. I have a Gator semi-hardshell for my acoustic Ibanez guitar. Mono M80 would be a good choice, thank you!

I myself own a M80 bass softcase, and in theory is the only case i use. Even at its relatively high cost, its all the money worth. Waterproof materials, sturdy zippers, comfortable to wear, about 1½ cm of padding on all sides, and supports the neck. And it ways almost nothing! if you as i, bicycle around with your bass alot, this is the perfect case. Sturdy, fits your back well, and is comfortable to use...

I just saw this thing at a local music store picked it up and played a few notes and realized that I can´t put it down any more so I took it with me..so I actually have no clue if the PU placing is an upcharge or a problem...

Oh don't worry for the Pickups, it's just surprising to see it like that. Sandberg usually has the PUs of the California P and PM inverted as you can see on the photo below. I'm actually glad to see that yours has the traditional one as it proves that Sandberg is also willing to do that. Which is good news as I would want mine like that.
Anyway how are you enjoying your California?

Oh I see..on sandbergs website the p4 bass has tarditional pickup placing..I probably wouldn´t have noticed the difference I have really liked the bass..just can´t keep my hands off of it I love the tone of the pickups, they sound great both in active and passive mode...and the neck is perfect for my hands..the only thing that was off wast the gauge of strings that was a bit small for my taste.. anyway I´m seriously thinking of getting a california jj4 also.

To be honest the P p/up this way round makes more sense to me as one would hope that it creates a more even tone across the strings rather than having a 'normal' P p/up that makes the bottom strings bassier and the higher strings more middly. Just a thought.

Yes you are right, thats also why many Manufactories use the P-Bass Pus inverse. It makes more sense but still is a matter of taste what one prefers, I like the sound of both in different ways and still find the best combination is having two of them one inverted on the neck position and the other traditionally but closer to the bridge. Not the Warwick way they use for the Buzzard and Stryker, their way is not bad but still I would swop it around. You get a nice mid tone on the low strings and the possibility to blend the lows and highs together of the higher strings. Looks a bit strange though, thats probably why nobody does it.
