Oct 9, 2024. Geoff had some issues with the finish so I said it was okay to take a few extra weeks to get it right. It's been 7 extra months so far. I'm told it will ship end of week. But ship date has moved more times than I can count.@Kmrumedy When is your expected date of completion for the bass?
Oh man, that's unfortunate, hopefully you can get it as soon as possible. Which finish was it?Oct 9, 2024. Just a semi-gloss. Nothing fancy. But the product he used does not lend itself well to that finish as advertised. So he had to put in a lot more elbow grease into the build. I'm not upset about the wait. Geoff keeps me updated and it is not for lack of effort on Geoff's part.Oh man, that's unfortunate, hopefully you can get it as soon as possible. Which finish was it?
Interesting, my first build was gloss, but this time ive opted for the oil finish since I like the look hahaJust a semi-gloss. Nothing fancy. Ive just always have had gloss so decided it was nice to have some change!Yeah I've decided on oil for my future builds because of ease of application and reliability in the future.
Beautiful! Mun ebony is one of my favorite woods. Every time I see a piece of it, I'm in awe. Hope you have it soon!
That fretboard is so cool man, the whole wood combination makes me jealous that I didnt think of it hahaha
Just realized the cavity plate... Whats up with the rectangular hole?
Geoff just told me that those are for the two series/angle/parallel coil switches for the pickups.Just realized the cavity plate... Whats up with the rectangular hole?
Gotcha, looking at the electronics, seems the same ones I have and I have 3 switches on front. So prob why he put them in the back so you didnt have them on the face?Geoff just told me that those are for the two series/angle/parallel coil switches for the pickups.
Honestly, I don't remember requesting that feature as I really dislike switches on basses.
Unfortunate you wont get to test it! But also unfortunate that Im already getting 2 more basses from him so I dont have the dough for this one
