I'm with you on that. I'm planning for a second Verellen amp in 2013 but the sale makes it really tempting to make a deposit that I can't afford.

In any case I did order a Road case for my Meat smoke that Ben says they are planning to ship out this week. super excited!

I'm very seriously considering throwing down for the meat-smoke pre-amp, as I mentioned in the other thread.

I'm currently using a vintage SVT Blueline, but god is that thing a bitch to lug around. The only other bass amp I've ever been impressed with is the Meatsmoke...but with my two SVTs, I've got no need for one. So when I saw the pre-amp pedal, it gave me a great downsizing idea. Get the pre-amp - run it into a decent, but cheap solid state head. Blammo, tube sound, but about 80lbs lighter. Or I could still use it with my SVT and it'll sound even better, most likely. Or use it on its own with my Bass Pod for home recording. The thing seems like it's unbeatable. Thoughts/Suggestions/comments?

I think you should sale one of the bluelines and go for it the Meatsmoke has a dedicated out for recording and with a used power amp would be great for gigging and I think Mr Thunderfoot has already done what you are proposing.

I fit my Markbass LM2 in a backpack with my cables, and I have a pedal pad with my Meatsmoke pre and other pedals. I carry my bass, and both of those in one trip, and my 6x10 in another. Easiest rig i've ever owned and it sounds incredible.

Yeah that's about right. It may just be listening to things with my eyes rather than my ears or the particular solid sate head I used but I do feel like the Head is a little bigger sounding.
But if downsizing and weight are big concerns you really can't go wrong with the meatsmoke pre

Edit- Wasn't trying to sound rude. I apologize if it came read that way. Mr.Thunderfoot also stated above how close the pre sounds to the real deal.

There are times where I need to use a venue's rig or where a 300 watt tube amp is a bit much. It also saved my butt after an inopportune blown fuse/tube failure the night before a gig. I've gotten to the point where I can't be without that Overdrive boost and the Preamp pedal is an elegant, easy to move solution to having it everywhere.
