CMC Effects Fans

CMC seems to be back open for business! It appears to be a limited selection for now, but if I had to guess, his absence was due to re-vamping a few things and focusing on "core" or best-selling pedals. Looks like his "Russian" Muffs have a faceplate now, which I assume simplifies and quickens build time. I prefer the old style, so I'm glad I grabbed those when I did. Prices are exactly what I remember them being.

Eh, they're not bad, just not my thing. Wouldn't keep me from buying one (if I didn't already have those varieties), I just think I prefer the other design. And if it means he can crank out more pedals and at the same price, it's a solid win for me. Hoping he brings back the Rat soon.
You don't have to wait... you can just message him and see if he'll do a rat for you.

Also, I have a small sound/big sound clone if anyone wanted one of those. Not my thing!

Sounds like something I'd say!
I've been pretty successful so far - only bought a single pedal this year. And it was for guitar, came broken, and was refunded and told to keep it. Hoping to get it fixed up relatively cheap and have a "grail" pedal of mine for shipping only. Let's hope... the shop received it today and say they've fixed it already...

How'd that turn out?
Well, they didn't do much of anything. So I ended up contacting James Brown (this was an original AmpTweaker Fat Metal Pro) since I follow him on FB. I asked him if there was anyone he'd recommend to fix it (since he sold AmpTweaker a few years ago), and he was kind enough to fix it for me. So, for a total of about $100 (including shipping this thing 4 times!), I got a grail pedal of mine fixed by a living legend and in pristine condition. I call that a win. I got it back about two weeks ago, and it's flat out amazing. Definitely Iommi in a box, which is exactly what I wanted.

In CMC news, I spent some time messing with fuzz again today - mostly on guitar (though the Bubble Font has stayed strong as my #2 bass fuzz, though I briefly thought it was getting deposed by the Swollen Pickle). The Civil War boosted by an EHX OD Glove is glorious - high gain glory pretty similar to the aforementioned Fat Metal, but a bit gainier and grittier. Kind of a halfway point between the Fat Metal and Tight Metal.

I also boosted the Bubble Font with my Dunwich ODB clone on bass - glorious!

Just scored a Bubble Font !! Can't wait to get it!!
