I'm also not a big fan of Starbucks, for a bunch of reasons. They put my favorite coffee bean business, The Coffee Connection in Boston, out of business. Their coffee tends to be too hot and ruin the flavor. etc. etc.
However, I must also say that when traveling in Japan, a Starbucks is a welcome sight in the morning.
Also, Starbucks makes one of the most killer coffee ice creams out there - Java Chip. Major, you gotta try it. Breyers is good, but Java Chip is the stuff.
At one point in the distant past, Haagen Dazs messed with coffee ice cream that had Heath chunks in it. That was pretty off scale also. For some reason, they discontinued that.
