With the happy news that Tom is making pedals again, now seems the perfect time to start a thread to celebrate all things Cog.

Please contribute any news, reviews and experiences and anything else related to Cog Effects pedals.

To get things rolling, I’ve included a family photo below.

Please get stuck in and give Tom and Cog the super thread he deserves.

Amazing Cog collection! :drool:

The T-65 is my favorite octaver. I can't wait for the new T-16 to arrive as well. I'm excited to see what's in store!

Thanks. It's taken a while to put together but I'm very excited about what's in store too.

I haven't played the v2 T-65 but I love the smooth clean lines. I've thought about reaching out to you to arrange a trade several times! I find the v1 tracks pretty well for an analogue octaver, is super flexible and is capable of really subby tones. Hopefully we'll see them down the line.

I'm just happy that Tom's building again. Double plus that it happened on my birthday too!

Woo Hoo! - more little boxes to chase after lol - subbed

I'm wondering with the message he mentioned about necking down the business, will the engraving and enamel paints get tossed? I like he's focusing more on the filter/octave stuff, that's what I'm interested in with this brand at least.

That’s a good question. I’ll need to look into that (and maybe even reach out to Tom when his inbox has calmed down). Somewhat ridiculously, I’ve had to put together my collection on the used market so I’m not aware of some of the nuances that may have been solved with knowing the full release chronology. If anyone else knows the answer already though then please jump in.

The reason I ask, the v1 t-16 is the spider web theme (like your t-65), they changed the octave and filter slightly on the v2, and the engraving has a circle around the "DOWN" octave control (like the current, hopefully, t65 for sale). I personally, remember liking the v1 t-16 better, but its been so long I could be mistaken. Just wondering, I've only dabbled in this brand.

I haven’t played the v1 and don’t know which octave is incorporated into the v1 T-65 but I’ll try to check. For what it’s worth though, both the v1 T-65 and the v2 T-16 sound massive and excellent.

I only have a cog mini 66….
But I believe I did a NPD thread years ago when I first got it, only wanted it for some sounds when I used to play mostly clean but loved it so much that it became an almost always on pedal.
Lusted after a tarkin mini but never saw any for sale either through Tom or in the wild so hope my ehx green Russian reissue will have to hold that fort.
I’m not one for octave or filters so don’t have much use for the other cog line up but his talk of modulation in the future I’d be keen to see a cog chorus

Absolutely awesome! What a good looking family. I've been looking for an R-1 seemingly forever so amazing work scoring the original Rogue One. I was a few minutes late getting to an X-Wing pedal a while back and I still occasionally get flashbacks to realising I'd seen a reference to Cog in the classifieds that I missed for an hour. The CPH02 sounds amazing too - such an interesting idea. It sounds from the FB post that Tom may be thinking about more routing pedals.

Agreed! I'm just happy to see a Tom-designed anything. Even if they get drip-fed out over time I'm just glad to see him back building. COVID has been rough in so many ways and affected so many people. The more green shoots like this the better.

That is such a good design! It’ll be interesting to see what future pedals look like. I like the look of the stripped back T-16. It was interesting to see the reference to standard pedals being stripped back and simpler; it leaves open the idea there will be non-standard pedals.
