Fender Custom Shop. I might choose one of the others, but realistically who has that kind of money laying around.

If Dingwall doesnt qualify, Fender definitely doesnt IMO. They both have the same idea of custom; basically a bunch of options of stuff they already offer.
Oh, come on!!!!
Rick Turner
No. No you are not.Am I the only one who finds it extremely stupid that some people list Fender as one of the top ten best custom builders?
Outside of sandwich-making that's not a name you hear often so I'm not surprised at all.cant believe no one said Mayones yet
Without degrading into abashing other brands thread... I'm trying to gain an understanding of
who are the top 10 custom bass makers.
I think the list is in no order includes the following:
Who else would you add to the list, then how would you order it?
- Fodera
- Ken Smith
- Tobias
- Sadowsky
- Mike Lull
- Roscoe
1. Ken Smith
2. Fodera
3. Jerzy Drozd
4. MTD
5. Fbass
6. LeFay
7. Ritter
8. Marleaux
9. Alembic
10. Pedulla
And then
11. Sadowsky
12. Wyn Bass
13. Mayonnes
14. Dingwall
15. Zon
And the list goes on and on...[/B]
I had a Benavente. It didn't woo me but it was a beautiful instrument.... and there are going to be some killer smaller luthiers that won't make the list like Benavente. Every one that I've ever played has made me want to buy one... so much so that I did... and I wasn't even in the market for a 6!
