Hard to say, in those times we had "Planned economy" all Factories were of Government, and produced guitars by order of Government. I only can say they were cost very much for simple worker.

I've seen posts about eastern bloc instruments from time to time. They certainly have that cool "retro" factor. Not sure it's enough to make me want to play one, but definitely cool. You can try searching the "basses" subforum for terms like "soviet," "czech," and "russian" or "communist" and probably find some threads about examples people have.
