I came up with a strap system that I can use on any bass that makes it seem like it is featherweight.
So, at this point I don't care how heavy it is as long as I like the playablility and tone then it's a keeper for me.
Note:
My system involves using 2 straps and the secondary strap is virtually unseen by the naked eye unless you look really closely, I have had no one ask me why I use 2 straps yet.
Side note- came up with the idea after battling with a shoulder condition for many years and had to come up with a way to get the weight off my shoulder because it was either that or quit playing.
One caveat to my system, it involves adding 2 more strap buttons one of which needs to be mounted to the lower bout. This button can be very small and is not very noticable but is there none the less. This might detract from the resale value in the future but that's the sacrifice I am willing to make for comfort.
BTW- this system eliminates neck dive as well.
