Coming back at 15 years

Welcome back, are you practicing yet? Go practice! LOL
Go try out some gear. You may find you have more options than you need. There's a pedal out there that will get the sound you want whatever Bass you wind up buying. I came back to playing after a long lay-off and was amazed at the weight loss and sound possibilities available. I got a little GAS and wound up with 3 Fender basses of different configurations, all passive, all different in nature. I used to be a Gibson man, then a Rick player. Now, a Jazzbass, a P-Bass and a PJ Aerodyne and I have all the sound I need.
Go practice!

Okay guys. So I had the chance to play an Ibanez sr 305edx today at guitar center and absolutely loved it. I think I’m going to end up going with this one even though I said I was gonna go a different route this time(that’s what the next bass is for right?) .
Great, have fun with it, and TB tradition is that once you get it, you post a NBD (New Bass Day) thread so others can live vicariously through your purchases.

TB is a great resource in many ways, but GAS can be a real issue here. I'd keep your purchases to strings, strap etc for a long while. I had one bass for my first couple of decades, now I have about 20 too many.

Hey guys, so I am looking to purchase a bass again. I had an ibanez sr700 before and played in a metalcore band, I liked it but I was thinking about going for something different this time. Would like something with some grindy mids for punk but that also has good lows for metal in case i play it again. Looking to spend no more than $500. I saw the Sterling stingray HH and single humbucker version that looked and felt good, would you guys have any other suggestions? Thanks guys

Check out the Schecter Stiletto Stealth, I bought a used one, put a rex brown Seymour Duncan pre amp in it, wrapped the pick guard with some faux carbon fiber wrap and BRUH!!! I love it, P pickup for my lows, MM in the bridge for your grit & grind! New the 5 stings are $530. This is my Numero Uno!!!
