I get irked when people post, "what's the weight on that?" in the classifieds also.

The weight of the bass should always be posted in an ad. It is an important piece of information about the bass.

Even many dealers have learned the importance of posting weight information on their website.

If a seller gets irked with potential buyers always asking what the weight is, the solution is simple....post the weight in your ad, and you will enter the blissful world of non-irkness.

It's really immature how some people have to get attitude with others to make themselves feel like their great. All I'm asking for is help, I don't need you to rub it in my face that I don't have as much experience as you.

I also LOL when I see sellers write "it really pains me to sell this" or "I really don't want to do this, but..." Gimme a break. If they didn't want to sell it, they wouldn't be posting an ad to sell it. The truth is, they want to sell it BIG TIME (but they don't want you to THINK they do!)

I have to agree with you. "Tone is all on your hands" is a really irritanting one.

Well, tone is in the hands...If those are the hands, reaching for the wallet to lay down serious cash for good equipment.

I don't see any reason to NOT tell people to do a search for some things- like "can I use rounds on my fretless?", "How can I wire my 4-ohm 4x10 to 8 ohms?", "Blend control vs. V/V/T?", and "What mode goes with a minor chord?". Those things that get covered once a month never extract any new revelations, so go looking for 'em.

I hate seeing text speak. I don't even open threads there. And I hate people coming to TB looking for help by making a post that's difficult to read, unclear, and full of horrible grammar and text speak, then cop an attitude when folks trying to help them start with trying to cast the query into a comprehensible form.

Getting scientific, and using archival material to understand better, I'd say that probably my amp blows your amp FURTHER into the water. My amp keeps floating on the surface, but yours is headed for the DEEPS, babeeeeeee!

Doncha (oops, I mean Don't you) just love seeing so many different iterations of the words its?

So many people seem to think that the possessive form of a word MUST have an apostrophe, so you see people trying to force an apostrophe into that word somewhere, and they can't seem to figure out where to put it (they either type it's or its') instead of typing its.

It's is a contraction for it is, so whenever they type it's, they should read the sentence back to themselves as if it says it is and then they will see that it makes no sense. And there is no such word as its'.

Since you ask... not a quote so much, as a style of post that is of the "coffee klatch" variety. "Basses that are red with black pickguards... DISCUSS". . . .

It always struck me as absurd as well. (What is this a teacher with an assignment?)
