I've only had them on two different basses, EP on double bass and Dominant on EUB, so it might not be a great comparison. String lengths are similar though. The EP is quite a bit thicker, which is probably the main difference, but the Dominant does feel somewhat stiffer. On double bass I much prefer the EPs, but if you want a thinner string the dominants seem fine. If you're doing a lot of bowing I'd consider the Bel Cantos also.
I think it depends on your bass but the EP was noticeably stiffer on my bass. I used EPs for a very short while before going back to Spiro Mittels with a G Dominant.
