A trip back home for Thanksgiving resulted in my parents forcing me to clear their house of all my old music gear. Part of this gear in an older Fender Bassman 100 combo amp. It’s the solid state tilt-back combo. I have no need for it so I think I’m going to fix it up then donate it to a school or something. The 15” woofer is busted and here’s where the problem is: the manual says both the power amp output and the woofer are 4 ohms but when I took the speaker out it says it is 8 ohms. I haven’t tested the speaker with a meter yet but that is my next step. Is there a way to test to output to see if it in fact is 4 ohms? I plan on buying a new speaker and I assume I could get an 8 ohm and be safe but I would like to get a 4 ohm in there if possible.
