This is NOT my auction, but in my normal daily searches, I came across this, and wonder if anyone has any idea what this really is. To me, it looks like someone took a neck through guitar kit and made a bass out of it. It seems REALLY deceiving to me... any thoughts?

I am not sure about being a Carvin. It looks pretty generic to me. There doesn't appear to have ANY markings on it, and one of those tuners seems a little off.
On the other hand, you could pick it up for $280.00 or so, it is a neck thru and has EMG's and a 7 day money back, if you feel lucky?????:)

It does look like it was made from a kit and therefore "quality control" is up to whoever built it - i.e. you have no guarantees whatsoever - it might be viable, it might not?

If it was in a shop you could try it and maybe it would be a decent bass - without getting my hands on it, there's no way I would give anybody that much money - you'd be safer buying a Squier - at least you would know what you were getting!

Over the years I have come across many basses that would have looked reasonable in a pic , but were basically unplayable or "undesirable" - so I would be biased against!

Those who don't have that experience may be more "optimistic"!! :eyebrow:
