Connecticut folks: live sound engineer recommendations?

If you have personally worked with independent, professional sound engineers in CT, could you throw some names at me? One of the groups I play with will get an occasional call to play a festival where there is no p.a. provided. Mixing from the stage works most of the time with our guitarist's club p.a., but not for a larger outdoor event. Many thanks for any references you can provide!

We play pubs/clubs along the shoreline, based in Guilford. When we have ventured out to Block Island and Misquamicut Beach area, someone associated with a club or festival is running sound for us. The latest is in Middlebury and now we've hit a gray area...we haven't had to negotiate the cost to have the sound and equipment provided for this sort of thing. Since I'm not booking, I'm not at liberty to offer or negotiate on the band's behalf, but I am trying to cast a net to gather what info I can.

Well, without some details it's hard to recommend someone. Outdoors can mean a LOT of things, from no stage or cover :( - to needing that supplied - to it being a nice fixed covered stage like we have in town here :) . Probably somewhere between $250 and $2500 ;) . I know you said "professional" but IME bands rarely want to pay for that LOL.

That makes sense- thanks for the help.

In our situation, sub-contracting a sound guy is kind of an odd thing and doesn't seem feasible for the amount of money the band will earn. I heard from the band leader that the people in charge (Quassy amusement park) are now working on getting the sound taken care of and that there will be a stage and power...oy. I hope they find a good one.:nailbiting:

He's our go-to guy for every show, any size, outdoor, etc. For example he does the Monday jazz nights at Bushnell Park. Based out of Manchester but he has multiple guys working for him so they go anywhere. Super professional, awesome mix (X32 you can control your own mix) and reasonable cost. Tell him Chris from Jimmy Hat sent ya.

I was part of the WWUH crew that broadcast those Monday night jazz concerts live in the early 80s. Brad Snow did them back then.
