Connector Plug

Does anyone know if there is a plug (connector) available for my bass lead that has 1/4 inch female to straight 1/4 inch male?....

It would look a bit like this but with 1/4 inch at both ends...

Uh...so you just want to extend a 1/4" cable by ~1.5"?
Sounds stupid don't it?.....

What the problem is, is that I've got a bass with an input jack that is sunken into the body and because of this it won't accept an angled plug....

I use an angled plug on all of my other basses and it's become a pain having to swap leads out every time that I want to use the bass with the sunken jack....

If there is a connector that's as described in my OP, then I could just leave it plugged into the bass with the sunken jack permanently and then I'd be able to just push my angled bass lead connector straight into it....(Deep breath)....

I know that I can, of course just use another regular bass lead to achieve a similar result but I'd like to avoid having the extra length of cable if possible....

Does this make any sense???

Ah, okay, that makes sense.

Can't say I've ever seen what you need, but I'll bet you could make one out of two separate Switchcraft parts: a standard 280 plug, and whatever their inline barrel jack is called. Oh, plus a hacksaw and a welding torch.

You could easily build or buy a 1/4" male-to-female jumper cable using the aforementioned Switchcraft 280 plug and their 1/4" female in-line barrel connector plus ~6" of shielded coax. Afix the female connector to your strap; leave that jumper permanently attached to that bass so it's always there, and then plug your right-angle cords into the female end of the jumper.

Yes....that's essentially what I've decided to do now that I'm pretty certain that I can't achieve what I want with a single connector.....

Thanks for the helpful reply...

Can't you just turn your cable around? Putting the 90 at your pedal/amp and the straight end in you bass?
Yes, but due to the positioning of my pedal board in my music room, it would require crawling under a desk every time that I wanted to play the bass with the sunken OUTPUT jack....

Yes, I could also just use the straight plug in all of my basses but I hate having a straight plug sticking out in front of, or below, my bass....

Yes.....I am nuts!.....:woot:.....

Cheers!....

that's why i don't dig those recessed jacks, or even strat-style recessed jackplates.

not only won't a right-angle cable work, but you invariably have to remove the cable by pulling on the wire instead of grabbing the plug itself, bad for the life of the cable.

Although as Jimi Hendrix aptly demonstrated, the Strat-style recessed jackplate works wonderfully with a right angle plug...if your guitar is upside-down.
