Considering relocation to Alaska

That would be a good thing as far as I'm concerned. Not the sharing part, but the men ratio.

I've always wanted to live in Alaska and have been considering relocating there. I was wondering if any natives or people who have located there could give me some advice or tips?

Look out for wild Palins, they run rampant out there.

For starters, the music scene is actually pretty decent here. For the amount of people here in the Anchorage/MatSu Valley area, there are tons of bands ranging from metal to funk/blues and everything in-between.

If you are interested in staying with the music scene, there are plenty of opertunities and good bassists are a rare comodity up here.

I would not recomend Juneau unless you want rain year round and you like to be completely cut off from the rest of the state.

Living expenses are a little higher up here, but most people don't seem to mind.

I would think that. For so much of the year, it's so dark and cold. Going to a bar and checking out some good live music may be a worthwhile sanity keeper. And for musicians, you might as well practice if it's -20 and dark outside.

Forget about finding much social life in some areas, such as the Aleutian Islands.
