Ok I bought a powered sub off Amazon it worked for 2 hrs then quit. I assumed it was just junk SSL brand. I sent it back and purchased a pioneer iBflat 12" and a Rockford Fosgate amp from FB marketplace this is my cleanest install ever. Things were fine until I started my 03 1500. Intermittently the subs start to " rumble" it is only deep bass. When this happens the sub gets hot enough to smell the amp does not. I unplugged the RCA cables no change. I adjusted all of the adjustments down all the way including the gain that is attached with a land line cord. The volume on my JVC head unit doesn't change anything either when adjusted.the only thing that stops it is taking away power and turning the amp off.I assume that this problem is what killed the SSL powered sub. The power wire for the amp is attached to the fuse panel where the wire comes from the battery and connects to the under hood fuse panel. The ground is attached to the floor. I did a very good job (I think) removing the paint and debris. I will provide pics tomorrow. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
