Convert P/J to P/MM

A bit of insight. That bass has Delanos with the treble on the pre and/or the treble on the amp/recording console up and the bass cut back. Delanos have the capability to be very clean and bright, displayed in this vid. This is where selection of proper pickups and electronics is mandatory. Once you know what you want as to electronics, you can start thinking about where to place them, this thread has turned into another Ltell me what I want to hear thread".

I just did a similar thing with some fancy-pants wood chisel technique. It was just a P originally though.

It started as a J "rout", then I threw a P pickup in there and disliked it, and now it's this. It'll get covered eventually. I wonder if one of these DeArmond rings will fit. Link Removed

Anyway, it sounds wonderful! I REALLY DIG IT. The MM at the bridge adds quite a bit of bass/mid to the already middy P pickup (Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound in this cased) so it really suits my tastes. I also feel that when soloed it doesn't sound as thin as a J, which I have never been a huge fan of. I'm very satisfied with it. If you're considering it, I say GO FOR IT!

Just use a router on yours.
