I had been on a rounds kick for the last several years. I was went back to my MIM jazz with flats while my MIA deluxe was out of commission during shielding work project. I enjoyed the flats so much I bought some TI jazz flats for the deluxe. I had to see what all the fuss is about. They are as advertised!
Still waiting for them to settle in a little. They only have a few hours on them and treble and mids are pretty prominent and and they don't quite have the thump that I know will be there when they break in a bit more. But they are the cats meow.
I love the feel and the tone of the flats. Are there times where I miss the rounds? Yes, but for now I'm digging the flats.
I should have a NBD with a modulus Q5 tomorrow! Pretty sure that will be a rounds or half rounds bass for me. Just can't see putting flats on a quantum.
