Glad to do it! I have to say I'm truly impressed with these. They won't appeal to everyone, but for those like me that do a wide variety of gigs, having a modular board like this is invaluable. I'm thinking I need a third one so I can mount my looper and solo effects on, to have them all on one.

You ziptie it to the underside. There are so many slots available it really isn't a problem. You have to have the back feet out to raise the board to mount the power supply, but it's easy.

Just ordered one of these (all I need - for now ). For those who don't want to carry around multiple bags/boards, you can attach the boards together more solidly with included thumbscrews and the bags have outside zippers so they're modular as well.

Here's the review I did for Bass Musician Magazine. I'm regularly using just one of them (houses my Pigtronix Bass Station, Creation Audio Funkulator and Seymour Duncan Vapor Trail Delay), but am very happy with them.

If they can break the $40 mark in the future, I'd start to be more interested. It costs me ~$30 and 20 minutes of work to make a velcro/MDF board. Even less money now that I have 150ft of 4" velcro.

I already made one of those MDF/Velcro dealies - it's heavy and bulky plus it's a fixed size. This is made from metal, includes a custom case, and can grow/shrink with my needs. Also, I don't need to slap velcro on the bottom of my pedals anymore which is a plus. So for me, ~$65 shipped (includes 10% discount code) is a heck of a value.

BTW, fast service as well - I received a shipping notice about 2 hrs after I ordered.

I haven't even gotten it yet, and I'm already a shill. Ha!

I can't say I don't like the idea because I do. I would need to do some serious thinking in trying to figure out how to work a signal chain from an "essential" board and a "luxury" board. Examples of issues - my B7k would go on both because it's my only DI. So it's at the end of my signal chain. And thus at the end of my board. And my compressor would go on both. And it's at the front of my board because it's the first thing in the chain. So if you add in the "luxury" board either my b7k is in the middle or my compressor is.

And if you need to rewire every time anyway then my current situation of having a PT jr and a PT2 seems about the same as this modular option.

Now if we are talking about building monster boards that are custom in size and shape then I am all for it. But I kinda max out with a PT2 (especially once I get a clone of one of my larger format pedals)....and as I type that I started dreaming about having the room to have multiple Moog units AND a Mu-Tron III AND.....

I think that's the beauty of it - it's a GAS enabler. You're essentially never out of room for more pedals.

And since my homemade pedalboard is a bit much for my needs right now and bulky overall, I'll use this as an excuse to jump into a nicer pedalboard that can grow if i choose to go in that direction. Since you've already got your needs covered with the PTs, you don't need one per say. But like I said - GAS enabler.

Well, what was your time worth? Many of the DIY comments fail to mention that their time IS worth something. I've made a couple of boards myself, and while I used materials I already had, I found my time spent was better used somewhere else. So for $60, I have no issue with it.

What I ended up doing was putting it together this way:

ESSENTIAL: Pigtronix Bass Station --> Creation Audio Funkulator --> Seymour Duncan Vapor Trail Delay
LUXURY: ProTone Nectar Chorus --> Pigtronix Bass Fat Drive --> Pigtronix Envelope Phaser

The ESSENTIAL board is wired as such that, when I attach the LUXURY board to the left of the ESSENTIAL, I can take two more cables and easily route the whole thing together fairly easily, with a minimum of hassle.

The ongoing issue is that, while I have daisy chain cables routed under both boards currently, both boards still have 9v and 18v pedals. Thankfully, the ESSENTIAL board has two that can run on 9v-18v (the Pigtronix and SD Vapor Trail), so I can use one power supply for that. But the LUXURY one would need two supplies at this point, unless I swapped the Nectar Chorus for my old Danelectro Stereo Cool Cat Chorus, which is 18v. That may be an option.

But yes, the Stompblox definitely makes you rethink your entire setup.

So what do you do exactly when you wire them together? Does the Delay then go into the Chorus? Or do you wire the "Luxury" into the middle - say after the Funkulator?

Ah yes, should've mentioned that. You are correct; the LUXURY board goes in between the Funkulator and the Delay, so it would be like this:

Bass Station --> Funkulator --> Chorus --> Bass Drive --> Envelope Phaser --> Delay

Figured I'd add this. I'm only using one for now, but so far so good. Keeps everything I need nice and tidy

As I add more effects, I'll add more boards. Probably going to get into modulation and time based effects next.
