Cool name for tube overdrive?

thanx for the advice, it's hard to ask the fellow building the pedal to break down all the different questions I have,
I basically need a science lesson on tubes,voltage etc
and I can't exactly ask him to break down the the entire science of it to me.

I went w the dual tube/12 volt pedal
( dual 5840 submini tubes)
and decided to forget about the convenience of the 9 v pedal,
Its tonal choices are wide
and the higher voltage pedal just sounds so good.

I don't know the tonal connotations associated with 1 tube vs 2,
Or higher voltages, but I do know what the soundclips tell me,
And the high voltage pedal just killed.

This seemed very Marshall-like to me, (which is what I'm after)
A couple of colleagues warned against tube pedals,
" another thing to break or go wrong" etc.

After bugging the poor fellow for clips and clips and more clips..
I just listened over & over, comparing clips in headphones
and his just hit the bullseye.

I thought the tone of it just felt right.

I figure the worst thing,Ill need another power cord for the 12 volt pedal,
I just plug two cords in.big deal.
Or put batteries in the other 2-3 pedals

i was gonna go w the star trek theme,
I like the idea of using the red LED for a Borg's prosthetic eyepiece
should be real creepy, but I'm considering scrapping the idea, just doesn't do it for me...
got a lot of cool images I'm working with..
