In addition to starring on The Carol Burnett Show and Mama's Family, Vicki Lawrence can also add another impressive achievement to her resume: topping the US charts in 1973 with her hit single The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia.
Cool "Southern Gospel Murder Song". It was offered by Bobby Russel(who wrote the song) to Cher but Sonny Bono Refused to record it.

That was early on, Richard Hell(on the Mustang)was still the bass player. The irony is, that guitarist, Richard Lloyd, was more known for playing a Strat. In addition, Tom Verlaine, on the unlikely choice of a Les Paul, was major contributor to the revival of the Jazzmaster and Jaguar, which by the mid-70’s were the most uncool and passe’ guitars to be seen with. Even more unusual, when I saw Television open for Peter Gabriel on his first album tour in early ‘77, Lloyd had a Travis Bean, and Verlaine was playing a plexiglass Dan Armstrong, Keef-style. What a show that was…Velaine, Lloyd, Robert Fripp, and Steve Hunter all in one night, plus Tony Levin(on a P and a Sunn 2000s rig), then TV bassist Fred Smith on a Mustang. Practically 40 years later to the month, I saw Television at an outdoor festival, underneath a full marquee moon.
