This lady is a very good player, almost on Vai or Satriani level, IMHO.
Once was in a IM tribute called the Iron Maidens, but now tours with Alice Cooper as well as recently releasing a solo album.

In the US, people around my age (56) or older may know Pictures of Matchstick Men. Ages 40 and up may recall the Camper Van Beethoven cover of it. Other than that, they have flown well below the radar here.

I remember both. In fact, Spotify tossed the CVB version at me just yesterday. Those guys were cool, saw the, at the "old" 9:30 Club in DC......back in the day.

do you know this was the biggest band at the time there was a term for it at the time it was called roller mania at the time in the 1970's the band was bigger than the beatles they sold millions of records i mean millions and strange to me no one today will admit to like'ing them they aint my cup of tea but my sister liked them she is not here to defend herself as she has now passed away if she was here she would prob say she still loved them

My step sister was totally into them. I re,ember that whole thing, they were huge. She liked the drummer, Derrick IIRC. Then shortly thereafter she, and all of us, discovered weed and hard rock, and that was that.

This talk was all marketing hype back in the day. I don't think that it is true. Lot's of bands claimed to be "Better than the Beatles" or the "Biggest band since the Beatles".

The Beatles had like nine number one hits between '63 & '65. That's more than the Rollers ever had. During those first three years they produced six albums all of which reached the #1 position for several weeks. The Bay City Rollers never had even close to that kind of success.

I am not the most ardent Beatles fan but it's ridiculous to compare the relative popularity of the Bay City Rollers to the Beatles even "in their day".

Comparing them in anything other than teen girl mania (for a few years) is a stretch.
While Bay City Rollers sold a good number of records for a short while, they were a very different cup of tea than the Beatles, if there is any doubt, listen to the catalog of songs written by the two bands while checking the net worth of the members of each band.
Bay City Rollers broke through in early 1975 in the UK and late in 1975 in the USA.
They had two Billboard hits in the USA and were popular worldwide in 1976, ...a decade later nobody in the USA remembers any song from them but "Saturday Night".
In 1976 & 1977 members were quitting over embarrassment, and being replaced.
By 1977 their popularity had waned.
By 1978 they were two competing bands.
They were a flash in the pan boy band popular with young teen girls for a couple years.
They garnered no respect from other musicians or any teen/young adult who was into music at that time.
They had no influence in shaping popular music in the 70's or the years since then.

I've always wondered about where and when this picture was taken. I think around 1971 (first attempt to wear headphones by Keith Moon started around that year ) and maybe they are playing Won't Get Fooled Again or Baba O' Riley but.. Anybody knows the actual location? Rehearsal space? TV show? Small concert gig?

i was there at the time no one is saying they were better than the beatles in the short space of time the bay city rollers were on top was they were really bigger than the beatles there is plenty of stuff on the internet so go and check it out i seen the histeria this band caused. people getting crushed to death through the sheer number of fans if you lived in the uk at the time you would know i did not like the band itself i put the post on for my sister it was a bit of fun and you are taking it to serious
