my mum loved elvis she was a rock'n'roller rock'n'roll music i was fed at year dot and i thank her she never got to see me play she died young she would have been so proud as mothers are

My friend's wife's mom dated Elvis! She was a career assistant at the William Morris Agency and met him there.
I saw her last Thanksgiving, she's in her mid-eighties. I was teasing her, trying to get some dirt. But she just smiles
like the cat that ate the canary.

My Dad saw Elvis play at a rodeo in Florida, I believe, in the 50s. That was early days, when Elvis arrived at gigs in an armored car, and the Colonel personally handed out pub shots.

We may have crossed paths back in the day. This picture is from my bedroom, back when I was going to school at SUNY. Our sax player, who was attending Vassar, got us a gig there. At the "Joss" dorm, noted in that poster in the background. I've forgotten the year, but it would have been in the mid 70's.

I wonder how Burke's doing these days, he had a major health scare a few years ago, embolism or something, almost died, after recovery he said he was gonna take a break since he wasn't healthy enough to sing and play bass at the same time yet. Budgie was pretty unknown in the US until the Internet; I only heard of them around 2011 or so and been a fan ever since.

i did not know he was ill but im glad you know this band here in the uk most people don't know who budgie are as i said in my post they paved the way for deep purple and black sabbath

No sir, not mine. Those sweaty live pics are of the IDLES, and the top staged photo is of the Fontaines. I've only known about IDLES for a month or so... been listening to their debut on repeat. When I actually searched them via the goog, I found out they were ending their tour here in Seattle. While I couldn't make the show, I noticed they were playing at the KEXP gathering space the following noon, which I did get to go to.

Found out about the Fontaines just a week ago... When I typed their name into the big G, I saw that they had opened for IDLES on their US tour! Must've been a helluva show

Thanks for the info. I'll check them out as I love hearing new music.
