Cool rock n roll photos

Here's to Ian Stewart,co-founder and sixth member of the original Rolling Stones.Removed in '63 by the band manager because he thought Ian didn't fit the band image. He was kept as pianist and road manager for twenty years.Played with others, including Led Zeppelin which gave us the iconic jam Boogie With Stu,with him.

Yes and no. In the early years Stew was limited to road manager but eventually continued playing with them live up until his death in 1985.

Ian Stewart didn't join in the party scene with the rest, being the more responsible type. Purchasing the van which hauled their gear and being one of two in the band to hold a job. What I find ironic and perhaps a bit unfair is though he opted for the cleaner lifestyle, Keith has outlived him by 35 years so far. Though they were only 5 years apart it speaks volumes about good genes.
