These were all music acts that had hit songs in the United States in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
Here are a few of them.
Yep, 50 cents could get you a Hot Dog or a Burger and a Coke back then. Cokes were 10 cents back then.
That 50 cents could get you two gallons of gas. Now two gallons can cost you $7 or more. Pitiful.
I bought a Mexican Coke in a bottle, 16 oz. yesterday day at a Mexican restaurant… $2.60

It is pitiful in that it is inflation. It is a hidden tax in that it transfers wealth from the economy to the government. It also disproportionately affects the poor by reducing their purchasing power and value of labour.
Gasoline should still cost fifty cents a gallon?
The extremely low price that you can buy a hamburger and coke at Wendys relative to the salary of a typical office worker is unbelievable, way cheaper than the good old days Eddie remembers.
Inflation won't stop, it has been happening all of our lives.
Nobody would be happier if economies crashed and prices dropped to the floor.
Very little point in randomly complaining that gas prices are where they are.
Much bigger problems to worry/complain about.
Should we make a list here in this thread about cool rock n roll photos? ...or should we enjoy some more rock n roll photos?

I am no financial whizz kid but... I'm fairly sure inflation is not a hidden tax.
Government in USA monitors inflation and takes action to control it when it gets above the 2% threshold.
I don't believe that inflation disproportionately affects the poor, the poor have no cushion by the nature of being poor, inflation is not a plot against them, I think it's an economic condition as a result of supply/demand/perception.
I will admit that corporations have way too much control over government in USA.
Gasoline is pretty cheap now because supply is plentiful for the current demand, if things were like they were 2/3/4 decades ago our gas prices would be three or four times what they are.
