I had the opportunity to go to both 40th Anniversary Shows of Metallica last week 
Is that harness for flying around the stage, ala Peter Pan?
or for spinning his guitar? lol
That was from the Glass Spider tour, which I saw; at one point he was way up in the air, in a cherry picker type device, but I don't remember a harness.
