Cool rock n roll photos

I managed to catch Roky(? Roki?) Erickson about 8 years ago, and he had The Black Angels as his backing band on that tour!

After a short set of just The Black Angels doing their own (rad) thing, somebody wheeled Roky out center stage in what looked like a furniture dolly  It's no secret that he had a rough few decades coming out of the 60's ... definitely some psych issues, and now plain ole old age is making his existence tougher.

They propped him up and put papers in front of him, & once he got going he put on a well done performance of mostly 13thFE songs I didn't know, some solo stuff, possibly a cover, and some looser jamming with his groovy backing band (that's my recall, but my short term memory actually may be worse than his :wacky:.)

Anyhowz, i was surprised to hear he was back on stage, and I figured it could very likely be the last time... so we pounced on 2 tix as soon as we got wind of it. (Got that way with seeing Leonard Cohen whenever possible in his last 5-8 years... he's aged so gracefully, like a fine wine, and his career and shows were consistently peaking right up until the very end :).)

I saw RATT in Scranton PA when Round and Round came out, with Helix as their opener. I remember RATT being sloppy and surprisingly lackluster during that performance. I was quite disappointed. Probably had something to do with Steven Pearcey's substance issues which I heard about later on.

Olli Wisdom singer for The Unwanted in the middle....(Went on to open the Bat Cave club in London)....

And yes....John at the bottom....

No, I wasn't playing at all back then....

I met the Vibrators when they were playing to a crowd of three at the White Hart in Willesden and one of the three was the barman....

I was the barman.... :woot:...

Olli lived in the same house as me in Wandsworth and played regularly at Toyah's warehouse studio that she called Mayhem up near Battersea Dogs Home.....

That’s the way I feel about Kris Kristofferson.
He’ll be in Atlanta...’intimate’ (read 300 folks or so!) venue in May.
Wouldn’t miss it for the World!
