The guy that ran the local mom-'n-pop music store when I was a kid had a white/gold Gibson 3-pickup that looked just like that. I believe it was a "Les Paul" at the time he purchased it, as the designation "SG" didn't exist yet. Somebody straighten me out if I'm misturkeyed. Cat could play pretty much anything Chet Atkins could, because that's who he was a sideman to before he quit to settle-in to small-town-music-store life. I'll never forget the smell of that store...

Saw the band/her a month and a half back, and while time waits for no one, and there were some limitations, it was a respectable set…


She was happy to be on stage, and the festival crowd was with her.

Like so many players in those days, the combo of the "plastic" back, and the non-feedback design meant it was a good live instrument. Larry Coryell was another notable user. I never was in love with the timbre of them.
