Cool Stuff To Do On Stage?

tumblr_ltio1bry0y1r5r4izo1_500.jpg

"Amateurs."

i once saw a cheesy thrash band where the singer crouched on top of the bass amp during an instrumental build up section and pretended to be a scary monster getting bigger and bigger.

bear it mind it was in the back room of a pub and the amp was a small practice combo

so you might want to consider that.

this stunt can go horribly wrong in so many ways, I suggest getting a big box of day old donuts and fling them out into the crowd, no one ever lost an eye by getting hit with a donut at least as far as I know of.

Take your pants off.

Please tell me that was a blink-182 reference :D

Anyway, to the people who said just to sit still and play the song, *you are what is wrong with live music!* which is more entertaining, to see someone sitting there bored, or moving around and having a good time? Anyone can just sit there and play a song. What seems to be so rare is real showmanship.

Classic show off guitarist :D

But I agree totally. It's a show.

If you play clean and play stuff people like they will pay attention. Leave the circus gimicks out it makes u look immature and can get u hurt

+1000

Even better though, you could just bring a CD player and plug it up to the PA that way you can get the exact sound of the recording. People will love that.
:bassist:

Seriously, if you want to play music just go to a studio and do 100 takes to get your lines perfect. People don't want to see live musicians playing, they just want to hear the music in its cleanest and purest form.

Throwing money off stage always works - here’s another idea, in the middle of the show, stop the show and announce everyone needs to wait while you take an important phone call - and while your all lit-up with follow spots, pull out a cell phone and start talking some muck - then throw the phone and break into a song like a hopped up version of your mother should know, or is that your mother on the phone, etc. Another thing a friend of mine use to do was make toasted cheese sandwiches with an iron and ironing board on stage and hand them out - people loved it.
