Coolest jazz basses ever?

Fine I'll play. I think my J bass is the cooliest.

Finally! A FOUR string. And a beauty.

Who needs 5 strings? I sometimes think I could get along
with just E A D..

I don't have a J-Bass. I have an Ibanez 35" with J-Bass electronics.
(blend, master volume, master tone, on/off). Passive. Noiseless Pups.

Now back to looking at all the nice Jazz Basses.

Well, I think every bass in this thread is cool in its own right.

Personally, of coarse I think mine is the coolest.
But only because it's mine. Why would I have it if I felt any different. I still get all excited when I unlatch the case and pull it out. Probably always will.

Here ya go.

My 72 is cooler since I took off the white guard and put on a tort pickguard last Christmas.

LOVE IT!!!!

Damn I wish my tort guard would still fit properly. It shrunk though. :-(
I think I'll eventually build a modern bass around that original 62 guard one day. At least that would be better than just watching it go to waste.

It's millimeters off from fitting. Just enough to break my heart.

Mine didn't shrink, it is cracked thru the screw holes in a couple of places, the reason I replaced it was to try to appease my wife. She won't go watch us play much anymore because I play that old ugly blue bass and everybody else has pretty guitars. She said it doesn't look as bad with this pickguard as it did with the white one.

I honestly would be lost, that LPB is gorgeous and equally so with both white and Tort.
I've seen that bass a few times lately and you definitely have a beauty.

Maybe remind the wifey your not all about the shiny new blemish free stuff all the time.
Just because a bass has a few scars and dents doesn't mean it isn't a beautiful instrument.
I mean imagine if us guys treated our significant others with that way of thinking!!

Basses like the wonderful women we have in our lives & hearts only get better with age.
Battle scars or laugh lines (wrinkles) its all the same.
It shows that you appreciate the things you have for what they are, and don't need to have newest stuff to feel you have the best stuff.

Tread lightly my friend, that conversation could go wrong VERY easily and end with your old bass getting shoved right up your-----well you get the idea. Careful with your delivery. :D
