Coolest jazz basses ever?

belimad said:
Yes, she plays Sadowski

Yeah I just went and watched a bunch if her stuff, she's pretty good, and had quite the impressive career so far.

Admittedly though I'd never heard of her before this thread. That's not saying much, I just don't have the time to keep up with music and all the artists anymore.

If nothing else though both her bass playing & her boob have earned themselves a new fan.

Well, I think every bass in this thread is cool in its own right.

Personally, of coarse I think mine is the coolest.
But only because it's mine. Why would I have it if I felt any different. I still get all excited when I unlatch the case and pull it out. Probably always will.

Here ya go.

This bass slays me.

Getting back to Tal Wilkenfeld, I believe Roger Sadowsky gave her that bass after seeing her play, and being so impressed with her.

Does anyone else remember this story?

Found this on her website.

"It didn't take long for the 17-year-old prodigy to get noticed; after playing bass for only a few months, famed luthier Roger Sadowsky heard her play and immediately offered her an endorsement with Sadowsky Guitars."

I know she was in NY a few weeks ago and she said her and Roger worked on some basses for 3 days. She didn't say if it was for a signature bass or personal use but I suspect both so it will be cool to see what they come up with.

Mike

Those pic's of Tal are with Jeff Beck at the Crosssroads concert in Chicago a few years back. I was was there and she impressed me as did Jeff Beck playing the Beatles "She's leaving home" which was the show stopper of the day. Can't believe it was left of the Crossroads DVD.

For me the cooles looking Jazz Bass is the 60s reissue with the stacked pots.

And of course, the coolest bass is always the bass I actually play.

So - in 1983 it was my Ibanez Jazz Bass, can-sprayed blue, with DiMarzios, defretted:

And in 2013, it's my Squier Deluxe Jazz Bass V, that I really love, because it plays well, sounds good, looks good - and is cheap:
