The father of a singer/guitarist I have worked with, used to work for Melody Maker back in the 60s. He was to interview a new upcoming artist and arranged that the interviewee come to his home. So his wife made refreshments, salmon and cucumber sandwiches and tea, as you do. As the car pulled up outside on the road, the wife noticed that the cat had started nibbling and pulling at the sandwiches, so she quickly put it all back together as Davy Jones (as he was known then), walked up the driveway.
