Cort 71 serial number? Worth it?

Hi guys! I've been eyeing this Cort bass that was theoretically made in 71 (I'm guessing the seller is saying that based on the serial number starting with 71, but I'm skeptical). Love the slightly transparent red. He's asking $300 for it - seem about right, low, or high? Any general opinions on Corts of this time frame?

I can probably set up a meet to play it. Might give it a go - my sense is it's a little overpriced though. That Reverb link looks pretty similar. Just wanted to get a quick gut check here first!

Although the company that became Cort started building instruments in the early 60’s, they didn’t make guitars until 1973. I don’t think they added their brand name “Cort” to the headstocks until 1982 or so. Prior to 1980 or 1981 the company was named Soo Doh.

With that info in hand, it is extremely doubtful that the bass was made in 1971.
