So i have an opportunity to get a cort curbow bass for 125 new. Should i jump on it? How do they play whats the sound like? i would possibly swap out the pickups and or electronics. Just curious peoples thoughts on these. Ive ran searches and seen mixed feelings, let me know your thoughts

I've had several of these, 125 new is a steal. They have that modern "hi-fi" clean type sound but can do pretty much everything. They play great, probably the easiest playing bass I've ever had.

For that money, I'd jump on it.

Good hearing so far, I used to own a 5 string but i sold it because i hate 5's. like the feel of it though and had some nice tone. spring spacing was to close on the 5 for me but well see,
i think i may pick it up!

Used to play one at church every now and then when I had to fill in and didn't have mine with me. Sounded good, and really easy to play. Really light, could stand there for hours and not notice it and it had some really usable tones as well, especially if you opened the back and fiddled with the bright switch pots. I would jump on one in a heart beat as a solid back up bass.

I briefly owned two Cort Curbow basses, one four and one five string at different times. Both smelled so strongly from the luthite that I couldn't stand it. Every time I opened the case it about knocked me over! Other than that they were good little basses. They just didn't fit me very well due to their small size.

I have bought two, one for my GF ( shes 5’0)and one to build the bass in my avatar. Great bang for the cash. I’m 6’4” so the standard body was way to small for me. I like the neck and the electronics and love the set able “slap switch”. Only two points to watch out for, one had a really sharp fret at the heal where the FB is profiled to the body, it drew blood, lots.The other is that I find the soapbar a little to long, (4 string) and as I use it as a thumb rest, playing for extended periods made my right hand sore. Oh yeah, dont drop it, the body around the electronics cavity is really thin.
