CORVETTE $$ DOUBLE BUCK

It is a beast :bassist:
I have never played a bass with suck a good sound !
and those pictures on the warwick site don´t do this bass any justice...when the guy took it out of the box I was amazed...it looks a lot better than those pics ! everyone who was inside the store just froze looking at this beauty. :)
I just don´t understand why it´s so cheap compared to the other warwicks

Heh, I love the descriptions Warwick had/has on the site about the Doublebuck. They first compared it to a wild woman who'll jump on the stage and dance topless. Now it's compared to that "one" in every family who's a complete Id-driven beast.

That bass certainly is an attention grabber. That can be a good thing or a bad thing. Bassists rarely get attention so a hot bass helps. However, if all eyes are on you/ your bass and your playing isn't absolutely sick tight, then it's a wash.

The Doublebuck is certainly one of the more appealing Warwicks in recent years. Swamp ash body (lighter weight than other 'wicks), a beastly pickup configuration, and a low price. I get the feeling the Doublebuck is what the Katana wants to be. I'll bet the Katanas sound incredible, but I find the body shape ugly while the Doublebuck has the racy, sleek, Corvette shape.

from the Warwick $$ ad said:
If the entire line of Warwick basses is like a family at a party, then the Corvette $$ is the newest in-law who ate all the food, drank all the booze and is now in the coat closet with not one, but two of the wait staff! You know the type - a complete and utter beast who only listens to the one person in the family who can control it. Yeah...the Double $$ is that wild.

Who the heck does their catalog writing, Pauly Shore?

I played a doublebuck $$ 5 string today, sounding great, felt so rich and full, I was playing a load of Warwick stuff in the Bass Centre, I preffered it to the Swamp ash standard. Lot's of tonal options too with all the knobs and switches :)

did i read that this bass has a thin neck? and it only costs $1200?

hot diggity. the only complaints i have had about warwicks are high price (for a mass-produced instrument) and thick neck.

warwick's response to the bongo?
