I use the Behringer BDI-21 for a nice boost of my passive basses and some tone shaping. Often get compliments on tone and it was around $35 online. I also have a GFS tuner wich was in the 30 something range also. Combined these give me everything I need. I carry them in a $6.99 pistol case from Academy Sports. One additional note, GFS has a 'One Spot' type power supply for about half the cost of the original. Good Luck!!!
