Couldn't be More Metal than These...

The SR looks very tempting, but those Bartolini BH2s have got to go. The ones on my EHB1005MS are pure trash!
But maybe if you play black metal it wouldn’t matter…
The tonality of the BH2's is actually not that bad on solid body basses. It's not as dark as the previous BH1. But, having them on the EHB series has turned them into something else. They sound darker on the EHB's, mainly due to EHB's chambered bodies.
 
I got the 19mm spacing neck through iron label and it is a fantastic player and fine sounding bass. Very even across the strings.
Hard to believe that Ibanez can offer these neck through basses under 1000 dollars even when made in Indonesia. I deleted the locking mechanism on the input jack and love it. I also slightly rounded off the area where your right forearm lays across the body to make it a bit more ergonomic at that spot. Not necessary but just personal preference.
I am very happy with it. Especially at the used price of $700 that I bought it from here on TB
